The blue and purple energy acted like a magnetic force, pulling Xyron’s severed head back to his neck.

Flesh stitched together, bone fused with bone, and with a sudden, violent gasp, Xyron’s lungs filled with air once more.

He stood up shakily, staring at his hands in disbelief.

“I’m…

I’m alive?” The monster that had killed him let out a confused snarl.

It didn’t wait to understand the miracle; it lunged, swinging its rusted sword.

But Xyron’s movements were different now—lighter, faster.

He jumped, narrowly dodging the blade, and landed a heavy punch squarely on the monster’s face.

As the beast stumbled, Xyron snatched a fallen sword from the ground and, with one clean strike, ended its life.

The adrenaline faded as quickly as it had come.

Xyron’s eyes fell on Jin’s motionless body.

The sword slipped from his hand, clattering on the stones.

He ran to his friend’s side, desperately checking for a pulse.

“Jin!

Jin, wake up!” he sobbed, clutching Jin’s cold armor.

But there was no heartbeat.

Jin was truly gone.

Xyron collapsed over his friend, his cries echoing through the hollow cavern.

[The Other Side of the Cave] Meanwhile, Yuhima and the Captain were fighting for their lives.

They were dominating the lesser monsters, but the sheer numbers were overwhelming.

Suddenly, a monster emerged from a blind spot, stabbing Yuhima through the back.

Almost simultaneously, another beast lunged at the Captain.

The Captain dodged, but the distraction was fatal.

In a moment of pure horror, the monsters swarmed the Captain.

The sound of tearing metal and flesh filled the air.

The Boss was dead.

Yuhima gasped, blood coughing from her lips.

She managed to pull out a high-grade healing potion, drinking it as she struggled to stay on her feet.

Her wounds closed slowly, but she was alone.

Surrounded.

That was when she heard it—the sound of someone crying.

“Xyron?” she whispered.

She fought like a demon, slicing through the remaining monsters until she reached the other chamber.

She saw Xyron holding Jin’s body, his shoulders shaking with grief.

“Xyron!

Get up!

We have to go!” Yuhima screamed, running toward him.

But behind her, a massive shadow emerged from the ceiling.

The Portal Boss had finally appeared—a towering beast with four arms and a sword made of dark energy.

“Xyron, move!” Yuhima grabbed him by the collar, shaking him violently.

“If we stay here, we die!” Xyron pushed her hand away, his eyes vacant.

“Leave me!

I don’t want to live anymore!

Everyone dies because of me…

just go!” “Are you insane?!” Yuhima shouted.

Before she could say more, the Portal Boss attacked.

A massive swing of its arm sent Yuhima flying across the room.

The Boss then turned to Xyron, raising its dark blade for the final kill.

At the last second, Yuhima threw herself between them, blocking the massive sword with her daggers.

The impact cracked the ground beneath her.

“Xyron…

run…

please!” Xyron looked up.

He saw Yuhima’s blood dripping onto the floor, saw her trembling hands refusing to let go.

He wiped the tears from his face and gripped his sword.

With a roar, he stabbed the Boss in the stomach.

Yuhima followed up, plunging her dagger into its back.

The Boss let out a deafening roar of agony.

It kicked Yuhima away with such force that she slammed into a jagged rock, her leg snapping with a sickening crunch.

She fell, bleeding heavily.

“YUHIMA!” Xyron screamed.

As the Boss turned to finish him, Xyron’s eyes snapped from brown to a piercing, celestial Blue.

Time seemed to slow down.

He jumped, moving so fast he was nothing but a blur of light.

SHINK.

The Portal Boss’s massive head spun through the air.

Its body collapsed into dust.

Xyron’s eyes returned to normal.

He sprinted to Yuhima, placing his hand over her shattered leg.

Suddenly, a warm light erupted from his palm.

Yuhima’s bones began to knit together instantly.

“Did I…

did I just heal you?” Xyron whispered, shocked by his own power.

“The portal!” Yuhima gasped, pointing at the crumbling exit.

“30 seconds left!

It’s closing!” They ran toward the blue vortex.

But just as they reached the final stretch, a massive ceiling rock fell, crushing Yuhima’s foot.

“10 seconds!” the countdown hummed in the air.

“Go!

Save yourself!” Yuhima cried.

Xyron didn’t listen.

He turned back, his muscles bulging as he lifted the massive rock just enough for Yuhima to slide out.

He scooped her into his arms and sprinted.

3…

2…

1…

They dived through the blue energy just as the portal vanished into thin air.

They tumbled onto the hard pavement of the real world, gasping for breath.

Yuhima stood up slowly, using her soul energy to finish healing her foot.

Xyron stood as well, looking at his hands, still shaking.

“You’re okay?” Xyron asked weakly.

“Yeah,” Yuhima looked at him with profound respect.

“Thanks, Xyron.

You saved my life.” Xyron tried to nod, but the world began to spin.

The massive drain of his new power was too much.

His eyes rolled back, and he began to collapse.

Yuhima lunged forward, catching him before he hit the ground.
