64: Beyond the Gate: The Last Gozzaki Chapter 85: The Unmasking 64: Beyond the Gate: The Last Gozzaki Chapter 85: The Unmasking Beyond the Gate: The Last Gozzaki Chapter 85: The Unmasking Inside Xyron’s mind, the conversation with Ryan turned colder.

“I’ll believe your twisted story for now,” Xyron whispered, his soul-eyes narrowing at the shadowy figure.

“But if this turns out to be a lie, I will erase you from existence.

You said Hayato tried to kill me when he adopted me?

But if I’m not his son, why would he care?” Ryan leaned back, swirling a cup of darkness.

“It wasn’t about being his son.

It was about fear.

He saw the potential inside you—the same potential you’re using to heal right now.

As for Maki?

Why she loves you?

That’s a question for her, not me.

Go ask her yourself.” [Outside the Hospital] A car screeched to a halt in front of the hospital entrance.

Kim stepped out, his face pale and eyes sunken with guilt.

He looked up at the massive perimeter of Shadow Guardians standing in silent, menacing formation around the building.

“They’re guarding him…” Kim whispered, his voice trembling.

“They really are loyal to him.” He started walking toward the entrance, desperate to see his friend and ask for forgiveness.

But before he could take three steps, a Guardian materialized out of the pavement, blade-locking Kim against his car.

The cold edge of a spectral dagger pressed against his throat.

“You have no permission to enter, traitor,” the Guardian hissed, his voice devoid of emotion.

“You sold our Lord’s life for a false promise of resurrection.

You are nothing but a cheat.

Leave now, or I will end you here.” “But he’s my friend!” Kim choked out, tears brimming in his eyes.

“I made a mistake!

He’ll forgive me, I know he will!

Please, let me in!” The Guardian pushed the dagger deeper, drawing a thin line of blood.

“The King’s mercy ended when you betrayed his family.

Leave.” [Inside Xyron’s Room] Xyron was awake, though his body felt like it was made of lead.

He signaled with a weak finger toward his face, gesturing for the Chairman to remove the oxygen mask.

The Chairman, still feeling the weight of his guilt, moved slowly.

He carefully detached the mask, the hiss of the ventilator stopping as the room fell into an eerie silence.

Xyron’s throat was dry, his voice a gravelly whisper.

“Chairman…” Xyron gasped, his eyes shifting toward the door.

He was preparing to ask the question that had been haunting him since the mindscape—the question that would determine if his entire life was a lie.

Editor’s Comment: The walls are closing in.

Kim is being rejected by the very soldiers who once protected him, and Xyron is finally ready to break his silence.

With the secret of his origins on the tip of his tongue and his body healing through forbidden means, Xyron’s next words to the Chairman—or perhaps to Maki—will change the course of the Gozzaki legend forever.
