Beyond the Gate: The Last Gozzaki

Chapter 63: The Ghost of the Past

The arena was still trembling from the previous bloodbath. Two Indian giants stood face-to-face: Vikram the Mirage and Rudra the Titan. The crowd expected a team effort, but the rules were cruel—only the strongest could proceed.

The fight began with a flash of silver. Vikram, the veteran, moved like a phantom. His clones blurred the air, slicing into Rudra’s massive muscles with precision. Rudra roared, swinging his colossal fists, but he was punching shadows. Vikram was dominating, every strike drawing blood until Rudra’s bronze skin was covered in deep gashes.

Knowing he couldn’t win with skill, Rudra’s eyes turned blood-red. In a desperate move, he lunged forward, ignoring a blade through his shoulder, and locked Vikram in a crushing bear hug. “If I fall, the pride of India falls with me!” Rudra screamed. His body began to glow with a volatile orange light.

BOOM!

A massive kamikaze blast vaporized the center of the ring. When the dust settled, both Vikram and Rudra were gone—only charred remains remained. “India is officially eliminated!” the Chairman shouted over the stunned silence of the crowd.

Next up, a Pakistani knight stepped into the ring against Han-Seol, a South Korean S-Rank. The fight was short and brutal. Han-Seol’s movements were sharp, his strikes cold. He dismantled his opponent with a series of lightning-fast kicks, eventually knocking him out with a spine-chilling crack.

Han-Seol didn’t leave the ring. He looked directly at the camera, a mocking smirk on his face. “Adam! Stop hiding like a coward in the VIP booth. Come down and face the man who used to make you cry in the school hallway!”

In the VIP lounge, Adam’s face turned purple with rage. Han-Seol was his childhood bully, the one who had made his life a living hell before they both awakened.

“I’ll kill him!” Adam roared, leaping from the balcony and crashing into the arena floor like a meteor. “You’re a dead man, Han-Seol!”

Adam ignited his soul energy, exhaling a torrent of white-hot flames. Han-Seol flickered out of the way, appearing in mid-air. He dived down with a soul-piercing strike that sent Adam skidding across the dirt. Adam growled, flying back into the sky. He gathered every ounce of his energy, forming a Great Sun Fireball that eclipsed the stadium lights.

“BURN IN HELL!” Adam screamed, throwing the sun.

The fireball engulfed Han-Seol. The heat was so intense it melted the stone floor. Adam landed, panting, convinced it was over. But as he turned his back to walk away, a scorched, demonic figure rose from the embers. Han-Seol, his skin half-burnt but his eyes glowing with malice, lunged.

He drove a hidden blade into Adam’s back. Adam gasped, coughing blood, and barely managed to roll away as Han-Seol’s second strike aimed for his neck, narrowly missing and taking a lock of his hair instead.

[The Rise Mansion – Executive Office]

Wang Rise sat in his leather chair, swirling a glass of expensive wine.

“Is Xyron there yet?” Wang asked without looking up. “No, sir,” his right-hand assistant replied. “No sign of him in the stands or the participant list.” “Keep a sharp eye out. If that boy steps into the light, the world will change.”

The assistant checked her tablet. “Sir, you have a meeting scheduled with the South Korean Chairman tomorrow regarding the portal crisis.” “Shift it to Sunday,” Wang said coldly. “I know why they’re calling. Korea is being swallowed by portals, and they want me to send my best guild to bail them out. They can wait until I see how this tournament ends.”

Editor’s Comment:

The personal stakes have turned the Mega Fight into a grudge match. Adam’s past has returned to haunt him, and he is currently bleeding out in the ring. Meanwhile, Wang Rise is playing a high-stakes game of global politics, using the portal crisis in Korea as leverage. Xyron is watching from the shadows—waiting for the moment when these ‘kings’ finally break each other so he can take the throne.
