8: Beyond the Gate: The Last Gozzaki Chapter 8: The Probability of a Miracle 8: Beyond the Gate: The Last Gozzaki Chapter 8: The Probability of a Miracle Chapter 8: The Probability of a Miracle Xyron was standing in a vast, infinite black void.

There was no floor, no sky, only endless darkness.

In the distance, a lone figure stood still.

Xyron’s heart began to race as he recognized the rugged silhouette and the bearded face.

“Dad!” Xyron screamed, his voice echoing in the emptiness.

He sprinted toward him, his feet making no sound.

Suddenly, a swirling portal ripped open behind Hayato.

Without a word, Hayato was sucked into the blue vortex.

Xyron dived in after him.

Inside, they were in a world of monsters.

Side by side, father and son fought with a synchronization they had never shared in real life.

Blade after blade, monster after monster fell.

Xyron managed to leap back through the exit, but when he turned, Hayato was gone.

The portal hummed and vanished.

Xyron stood in the middle of a familiar park ground, screaming into the night.

“DAD!

DAD, COME BACK!” Xyron’s eyes snapped open.

He was drenched in sweat, his chest heaving.

It was night, the room was pitch black, and the only sound was the steady breathing of Maki, who was sleeping on a chair nearby.

“It was…

just a dream,” Xyron whispered, his hands trembling.

“But I saw him.

I actually saw Dad.” Maki stirred, groaning as she rubbed her eyes.

“Xyron?

What is it now?

Just let me sleep…

stop shouting.” “I saw Dad, Maki!

In my dream, he was in a portal!” Maki didn’t even look up.

“Just keep quiet and go back to sleep.

You’re obsessed.” Xyron looked down, his mind spinning at a hundred miles per hour.

‘It felt too real to be just a dream.

It’s a hint.

A sign.’ He started calculating in his head, the numbers flashing like soul energy.

‘If a portal closes while a human is still inside, they are trapped in the Third World.

But there is a 1.42% chance that if a new portal opens in the exact same geographic location, it can act as a bridge to the old dimension.

It’s nearly impossible…

but it’s a chance.’ He looked out the window toward the open park ground across the street.

‘That ground in my dream…

it was the one right outside.’ [The Next Morning] As soon as the sun rose, Xyron left the apartment.

He sat on a bench in the middle of the park, his eyes scanning the air.

Hours passed.

Then, the air began to ripple.

A Rank 3 Portal slowly tore open, but not in the center—it was tucked away toward the edge of the trees.

Xyron walked toward it, the blue light reflecting in his eyes.

He stood directly in front of the swirling vortex and closed his eyes.

He focused his soul energy, and with a soft shimmer, a sharp iron dagger spawned in his hand.

‘I don’t have a permit for this raid,’ Xyron thought.

‘Only guilds and registered teams are allowed to enter.

If the Association finds out, I’ll lose my license.

But no team has arrived yet.

If I go in now and conquer it alone, I might find him.

I might find Dad.’ He took a step toward the blue energy, his heart pounding.

“Hey, kid!

Stop right there!” a rough voice shouted from behind.

Xyron froze.

He turned around slowly to see a group of five knights in heavy gear approaching.

They looked like mid-tier mercenaries, arrogant and bored.

“You look like a knight,” the lead knight said, eyeing Xyron’s cheap gear.

“But this portal belongs to us.

We have the official orders to raid this gate.

So, why don’t you do yourself a favor and get lost?” Xyron didn’t move.

He looked at the portal, then back at the knights.

His hand tightened around his dagger, his knuckles turning white as he clenched his fist.

The air around him seemed to grow cold.

Editor’s Comment: A 1.42% chance is all Xyron needs.

After a prophetic dream, he finds a portal that could lead to his father, but a group of arrogant knights stands in his way.

Xyron is still a ‘Rank 6’ in the eyes of the world, but the power boiling inside him is looking for an excuse to break free.

Will he step aside, or will he fight his own kind to reach the truth?
